10 WWE Reunions That Were False Dawns
9. The Rockers (2005/06)
Shawn Michaels makes it two for two on this list with his part in the 2005/06 revival of the team that put him on the map with Marty Jannetty: The Rockers.
Seen as one of the foremost innovative teams in the illustrious history of Vince McMahon's company, The Rockers made a name for themselves as high flying, energetic performers who oozed charisma and charm. It's little wonder that Michaels became the star he did as the seeds for his cocky, flashy personality were sowed very early into his second run with the team.
Jannetty on the other hand wasn't as fortunate and he never clicked as a singles performer after the team's now famous split.
So, in 2005 when it was revealed that The Rockers would be returning for one night only to take on La Resistance at the beginning of Michaels and Kurt Angle's 'Mania 21 programme, the fans lapped up the once adored team.
Jannetty would sadly just be a footnote in the angle between HBK and Angle (due to him being arrested and released shortly after) but would return in 2006 to aid Michaels in his battle against Vince McMahon and The Spirit Squad.
Jannetty was expected to take up a regular role on RAW to consistently help his partner battle the boss but was again released, leading to the company reforming DX instead.
Both these comebacks signalled a victory lap for The Rockers, but we never got the definitive ending due to conflicting circumstances.
