10 WWE Reunions That Were False Dawns
4. The Hardy Boyz (2019)
*Exhales*
This one's just said, isn't it?
The Hardy Boyz, Matt and Jeff, returned to The WWE in 2017 to the rapturous approval of the capacity WrestleMania 33 crowd. Smashing their way through a Ladder Match, they claimed the Raw Tag Team Championships on their first night back and the signs looked good for their return.
They enjoyed a fun feud with The Bar before losing the titles to them at Extreme Rules in a Steel Cage match, only to fail in their rematch at Great Balls of Fire.
Jeff would tear his rotator cuff in September and leave Matt to fully immerse himself in his Woken Universe. When Jeff returned the night after 'Mania 34, he had a brief exchange with his now Woken brother, before being drafted to SmackDown on his own.
The Hardy Boyz would finally make their triumphant return as a team in February 2019, with the two knocking off their long time rivals, The Bar. After missing 'Mania 35, the next SmackDown would see them defeat The Usos for the Tag Team Championships, only to drop the belts due to another Jeff injury 21 days later.
Every time we think we're going to get that one last nostalgic run for the old Team Xtreme, injuries seem to pull the run from under our feet.
Fingers crossed we get one last Hardy run when Jeff is fully fit.
