10 WWE Salaries You Won't Believe

2. The Rock - $2.5 Million

The fact The Rock is earning anything on a contracted basis from WWE should come as a surprise to most, given he isn't an active member of the roster. And yet here he is: the company's second highest earner over the past year.

Anyone, wrestling fans or otherwise, who hasn't heard of The Rock must have been living under one. One of the most marketable movie stars in the world (and according to Forbes, the highest grossing), Dwayne's appeal is near universal, and one can entirely understand WWE's massive investment in the global superstar, even if he doesn't step between the ropes.

The Rock's WrestleMania 32 appearance alone probably earned him the majority of that allegedly huge wad. And yes, technically he did wrestle. But mostly he was there to prance about setting fire to his own name. All in a day's work.

Benjamin was born in 1987, and is still not dead. He variously enjoys classical music, old-school adventure games (they're not dead), and walks on the beach (albeit short - asthma, you know). He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
