R-Truth portrays a gullible comedic character that sings “What's Up”, a hip hop song that sounds like it was written in 1993, as he dances his way to the ring.

The character comes across as a middle-aged man's interpretation of what young hip-hop fans might think is cool and completely misses the mark. How he has managed to stay in WWE these past years with this horrible gimmick is truly a mystery. Truth is a great athlete and does a good job portraying an ill-conceived character. That might explain it.

At 45 years of age, it's unlikely that a main event push is in his future regardless of the character he portrays. That being said, WWE creative still has to have something better up their sleeve than the tired “Whats Up” routine.

Once he finishes his current feud with Goldust, a heel turn might be interesting.
