Meanwhile, Xia Li's 'Great Protector' guise also needs to go.

The idea had promise when WWE began teasing it in late-2021. Li burst onto the scene and was greeted with fanfare when she saved Naomi from Sonya Deville's tyranny, but that led to sod all else. Xia hasn't even worked a televised match since beating Natalya in four minutes on the 25 February episode of SmackDown.

Who, exactly, is she protecting? It's like those writers came up with a catchy nickname, saw potential in the notion that she'd become some Batman-esque saviour for put-upon babyfaces in the women's division, then quickly came to the realisation that they didn't even want that for her.

Li can keep the look. It's eye-catching, and there's no-one else doing that sort of thing on the roster. However, she must be recast upon her return to TV (whenever that might be). This 'Great Protector' concept has been a total failure.
