5. Mr. Perfect
WWEOften put into that category of guys alongside Bret Hart and Randy Savage as flawless ring technicians, 'Mr. Perfect' Curt Hennig had an amazing run as a heel in the WWE between 1988 and 1996. He went undefeated for a year, feuded with Hulk Hogan over the world title and had one of the most prestigious Intercontinental title runs of all time. Despite all of this, Hennig has never headlined Wrestlemania. Hell, he's never been the world champion, something long time wrestling fans still grumble about to this very day. Even Hulk Hogan, usually slow to praise others, went on record as to say that 'Everybody would check their egos at the door when they came to a building that Curt Hennig was in, because you couldn't out-work him, you couldn't outshine him and you couldn't out-perform him. He was the best of the best.' He even returned in 2002 to a rapturous ovation as the 25th entrant in the Royal Rumble, reaching the final three and his performance earned him a full time contract where he worked within the company for the rest of the year. It's still a mystery as to why he never got a run at the very top. For a long time, especially during his first run as 'Mr. Perfect', he was the top heel in the company. That he never got to shine in 'Mania's main event is a loss to wrestling fans everywhere.
