10 WWE Superstars And What Happened When They First Met Triple H
2. Cain Velasquez
Looking at the way Cain Velasquez dominated the company's most protected star, Brock Lesnar, on his first night, many fans would assume that WWE would have signed him instantly when he was available to work. However, that is not the case. The former UFC athlete revealed in one of his interviews earlier this year that Vince McMahon and Triple H rejected him first.
He disclosed the reason behind the rejection and stated that the most prominent sports-entertainment organization only signed the best in the business. After watching a match at Elimination Chamber, 'Cardio Cain' called the top officials of the company, only to learn that they needed him to upgrade his skills. Velasquez then had a stint at AAA before ultimately becoming a Superstar.
The 37-year-old made his debut at Crown Jewel, where he squared off against his old foe, Lesnar, in a world championship bout. The retired mixed martial artist lost that bout in 2 minutes and 10 seconds.
