10 WWE Superstars John Cena Has ALREADY Ruined Since Going Part-Time

4. Roman Reigns

John Cena may have added himself to a meme of wrestlers symbolically raising the arm of Roman Reigns in recent years, but he'd already landed his killer blows long before the bell for their match even rang.

Cena and Reigns' angle was built upon the post-modern preoccupation for who really was the company's biggest star. Ignoring how inherently stupid a plot device that is in an allegedly competitive environment, the two went at it in worked shoot promo battles each week in the relatively short build to their pay-per-view clash.

Only, they didn't really. Cena won every battle hands down, effectively winning the war even when it appeared to be a surface level result for Roman. 'Big Match John' dropped his heaviest artillery on 'The Big Dog', proving rather profoundly who's 'Yard' it still was.

Admittedly, the caustic lines may have been fed to John, but a man with such a love for the business should have known better than to deliver them with such vim, maybe even having enough backbone to suggest an alternative to actually help the incumbent flag-bearer. This was 2017's equivalent of Hulk Hogan's 1990 posturing, with Cena tacitly clinging on to every inch of a shared spotlight.
