10 WWE Superstars Set For A Big Push Following WrestleMania 41
3. Ludwig Kaiser
Absent, strangely, from the WrestleMania 41 card was Ludwig Kaiser.
Kaiser, who had all but issued an open challenge, has long been a good hand for WWE. He fills the spots. He produces excellent wrestling. His character work has soared. He gets decent reactions.
What's the issue?
He is in the shadow of Gunther.
Truthfully, Kaiser will never shine while at the side of WWE's 'Ring General'. Even despite not always being by Gunther's side, Ludwig remains his comrade, hence his lack of individual storylines outside of being Guy Who Loses This Week And Isn't Seen For A While.
There is little time to waste with the German either, as Ludwig, who will turn 35 in the summer, is at the middle point in terms of having more years in the ring behind him than he does ahead. This should cause a push, given his relentless dedication to the craft, and it could result in a race to the Intercontinental Title in time for WWE wrapping up Dominik Mysterio and Finn Balor's issues.
That would tie in nicely to Gunther's ongoing struggles in the wake of his World Heavyweight Title race. He hasn't smelled the workhorse belt since he was usurped by Sami Zayn, so to have Ludwig Kaiser, his long-time accomplice, in the hunt for it could create a compelling dynamic that elevates Kaiser to his level.
