6. Finn Bálor

Finn Bálor has received an enormous push since day one, both in NXT and on the main roster. He was thrown into the NXT Championship picture very quickly after his debut, eventually winning it and going on to hold the title for a record-breaking 292 days.

As part of the brand split, Bálor was drafted to Raw and was immediately granted an opportunity at the newly-formed Universal Title, after pinning Roman Reigns clean. Bálor would beat Seth Rollins at SummerSlam to be crowned the inaugural Universal Champion but an injury would force him to relinquish his first world title.

Now, I’m sure your initial thoughts are something along the lines of: ‘what’s wrong with that? Finn Bálor is cool.’ And I agree. Bálor is great and I’m not suggesting that he needs to change anything radically. What I’d like to see is better use of his alter-ego, ‘The Demon King.’

Currently, at every PPV event, Finn gets his paint on and crawls to the ring as ‘The Demon’ and it’s starting to feel less special than it should. ‘The Demon’ should only be brought out on very special occasions and should represent more than just a change in appearance. It should also represent a change in attitude.

When you think of a ‘demon’ you don’t think of a regular guy who just looks different. You think of something evil, something unlike anything you’ve ever seen. Finn’s evolution should represent this. I’m not saying he needs to start going round hitting everyone with chairs, but ‘The Demon King’ should definitely be willing to go that little bit further in order to win.

Finn Bálor is already popular and I’m sure he’ll come back to a big pop when he returns. This small change, though, could go a long way towards adding an extra layer to his character and increasing his popularity even further.
