10 WWE Superstars Who Should Switch Brands In 2017

Sami Zayn is one of the most believable, likeable, and emotionally resonant Superstars employed by WWE, but he’s currently being used as an upmarket Kalisto, a post-jobber roadblock for larger Superstars with more direction. Sami’s feud with Braun Strowman showed him at his best, and while it was a solid David vs. Goliath story, it ultimately ended with Sami failing to eliminate Strowman from the Royal Rumble. Despite being one of WWE’s few true babyfaces, Sami is somewhat lost in the shuffle at the moment. But this doesn’t have to be the case.

The prestige of the Intercontinental Title was built upon smaller, leaner, more technical (and incidentally, Canadian) wrestlers like Bret Hart, Pat Patterson and Chris Jericho, and Sami fits this mould perfectly. He could have fantastic bouts for the title over on Smackdown, with the likes of Baron Corbin, The Miz, Dolph Ziggler, and even AJ Styles.

Although one could argue that it makes sense to keep the tension between Zayn and Kevin Owens alive by having them share the same roster, it’d be better to separate them, ensuring that any future feuds later down the line would have more impact. After all, absence makes the heart grow fonder.

Sami made no bones about wanting to be drafted to Smackdown in 2016, and even argued with Mick Foley about being traded outside of any official draft. With that in mind, the lead-up to 2017's draft could prove a pivotal few weeks for Sami Zayn.
