Orton's first few WWE appearances were met with accusations of nepotism, and the belief that he probably wouldn't have been given the opportunity to be Triple H and Ric Flair's on-screen running mate were it not for the fact that he had a famous last name.

There was probably some truth in that too, but the fans who dismissed Orton as a spoiled kid blessed with the right genes were made to eat humble pie when the 'Legend Killer' put on a slew of high-quality matches alongside the likes of Shawn Michaels, Rob Van Dam and, perhaps most memorably, Mick Foley.

Orton changed hearts and minds to such an extent that the SummerSlam crowd cheered his win over fan favourite Chris Benoit for his maiden world title - all just a couple of years after he was dismissed as a pretty boy who lucked out.
