10 WWE Wrestlers We Initially Misjudged
6. Dolph Ziggler
Few saw Nic Nemeth as a potential world champion when he was running around as a cheerleader, and fewer still had any faith left in him when he debuted, repackaged, as Dolph Ziggler in 2008.
Apart from anything else, it was the name itself, which gave the impression of an adult film star more than it did a top-level professional wrestler (although this is a sport, in all fairness, which counts the likes of Hulk Hogan and The Rock among its most iconic sons).
After some great matches (and, in particular, some of the best selling WWE fans have ever seen) Ziggler soon shook off his unfortunate gimmick and became one of the most popular wrestlers of his era, and one who many believe could do much better than an occasional spot in the under-card.
