1. Roman Reigns

This final entry is the total opposite of an RKO because you should have seen it coming.

The real-life Joe Anoa'i started his main roster career phenomenally as The Shield's enforcer. But, the fans rejected his overly aggressive and creatively bankrupt push after the group's break-up so unanimously that it almost tanked the entire promotion.

It really felt like his career had hit a brick wall it would never climb, as the audience had poured so much hatred into him that he'd never get the stink of this terrible run off. However, after some time away during the Covid era, he came back as The Tribal Chief and the rest was history.

Through hard work, determination, steady improvement, and embracing his previous rejection, he forged a character that became undeniable. This led to his momentous run as Undisputed Universal Champion, which will go down in the history books as one of wrestling's greatest title reigns.

The rise, fall, and subsequent rise of Roman Reigns is a story that only professional wrestling could tell. It makes Michael Cole's words at the end of WrestleMania XL ring true. "Damn it, I love professional wrestling."
