21. Bobby Lashley Wanted To Gain Serious Weight

Bobby Lashley has always been in supreme physical condition. The man looks like he chows down on 1000g of protein for breakfast, then lifts cars above his head before most have even hauled themselves out of bed. One constant with Lashley throughout his career? He's always been in peak nick, and he has muscles in places most people don't even have places.

WWE top brass would've been stunned then when Bob pitched this storyline. He wanted to 'get depressed', eat a lot and gain serious weight. Like, Lashley literally wanted to shed his packed-on musclebound physique and 'get fat'. That's when MVP would step in, motivate his charge to shift all of the weight and get his head back in the game.

Bobby viewed all of this as an inspiring story that might coax someone watching off the couch and into the gym. It'd prove how quickly somebody can turn their fortunes back around, and lead to one hell of a babyface redemption arc. WWE's power players weren't all that hooked on Lashley's pitch, sadly, so his dreams of sitting around eating ice cream for a while went up in smoke.

In essence, he'd have been method acting like Christian Bale. Morphing your body from fit to flabby and then back to muscles again carries some health risks, but Bobby believed he could easily pull it off and tell a fun story at the same time.

One struggles to picture him with anything but giant pecs, boulder shoulders, a shredded stomach and biceps bigger than a 20kg weight plate, but it almost happened.
