The Miz has been a revelation thus far in 2016. The recipient of numerous start-and-stop pushes since his failed run as WWE champion five years earlier, he had every reason to be disenfranchised with his spot in the organisation.

Instead, he continued to work hard and exploded back into relevance this year, playing up his Hollywood A-lister gimmick and appearing more motivated than ever to ensure that his latest push sticks.

His in-ring performances have been stellar, including a series of matches against AJ Styles that earned him so much respect The Phenomenal One praised him in media interviews.

The night after WrestleMania 32, his hard work paid off as he reintroduced wife Maryse to a new generation of fans, then defeated Zack Ryder to capture the Intercontinental Championship. Since then, he has cheated, manipulated and maneuvered his way to victory after victory, oftentimes over superstars perceived to be better than him.

The result has been incredible heat for a character many had pronounced dead half a decade earlier.

With Maryse by his side, some of the most consistent performances of anyone on the roster and a brand extension almost guaranteed to increase his star power, Miz figures to have another strong half of 2016.
