6. Dolph Ziggler

Unlike many of the names on this list, Ziggler and Punk actually occupied the same WWE space at the same time. During the supposedly final year of Punk's wrestling career, Dolph had gone from being an insubstantial rascal to a credible baby face with a bright future.

The really interesting stuff happened, however, after CM Punk left. Following some brutally sincere promos, Ziggler found a new level of substance in being a dastardly glory-hunter with a big old chip on his shoulder. Because of this, Dolph is still the best he has ever been, and it's a crying shame that he continues to be hellaciously underused.

It's also the Dolph Ziggler that CM Punk never got to spar with. Mutual respect is no doubt assured, but would any punches be pulled in a verbal exchange? Hell no. There is a depressing sense that the momentum of Ziggler's heel run could be pulled from under him at any given point, and so he and Punk urgently need to get in the business of slagging each other off before the opportunity is lost forever.
