As an indie superstar in his own right, the parallels between Finn Bálor and CM Punk are obvious. Their meteoric rise through the underground was the stuff of legend even before they stepped into a WWE ring. They both have a remarkable wealth of history to their careers. In every other respect, however, their personalities are distinctly dissimilar. A promo showdown between these two could be a very special event of near fantasy proportions. If it happens soon, it will also utilise Bálor's freshly birthed run as a heel.

Mercifully, NXT seems to operate outside of standard creative WWE jurisdictions, and the second Bálor stepped back onto this turf, his charisma refilled to its appropriate depth. It might be a villainous depiction, but there is no doubting that it's a more honest one than seen during the shoots of Raw and SmackDown.
