3. Edge Vs. Seth Rollins

A very good match that didn't quite electrify the audience to reach the intangible classic level, it was still far better and more exciting than cynics might have anticipated.

This was well-crafted, intelligent stuff that told - subtly and without any mind-numbing, risible tropes - a quality in-ring story that paid off the TV storyline.

Edge and Seth Rollins were positioned as equals on TV, though both men disagreed.

Seth in his mind was a better, more violent opportunist. Edge reckoned Seth was simply "Edge-lite".

The story unfolded in Edge's favour in such a way that Rollins was hardly buried. Edge, in dusting off the deepest recesses of his arsenal, in sequences that were threaded together so seamlessly that it never felt like a grabby greatest hits set, emerged as the better man only because he's more experienced. The Brood entrance wasn't just a fun throwback to a fondly-remembered time in the life of many enduring wrestling fans. It made sense in the context of a story told with an engrossing sense of detail.

Edge's experience drove the main plot point, and his last-gasp counters to the Curb Stomp were performed with masterful timing.

For any readers who visit the site just to check what WWE is up to, this comes highly recommended.
