7. Miz & Mysterio Whet Our Appetites

A cracking wee TV battle that'll ultimately be forgotten about as a result of all the wild sh*t that happened on this show, The Miz vs. Rey Mysterio was the shortform version of a match that should make its way to a proper pay-per-view card sometime soon. Coupled with Crown Jewel, this was a fun appetiser that could be an awesome singles rivalry in the near future, so let's hope it comes together.

Miz and Mysterio did absolutely everything they could with a limited eight-minute runtime. There was a strong face/heel dynamic, the expected amount of drama, plenty of signature spots, and, to top it off, an opportunistic finish that keeps Miz protected in defeat. He fell to a cradle after trying the same thing following Rey's Frog Splash, and walked away from the contest no weaker than when he'd arrived.

Randy Orton struck after the bell. It looks like WWE are building towards him vs. Mysterio, as the former World Heavyweight Champion evaded the RKO, leaving 'The A-Lister' to eat it instead. That we're now looking forward to Rey vs. Randy and a potential PPV rematch with Miz really shows what a wise decision the company made in bringing the lucha legend back.
