11 WWE Royal Rumble Statistics You Need To Know
7. Most Time Spent In Rumble
Longevity in the Royal Rumble is part luck of the draw, part
flat-out luck. If you draw a low number and manage to hang around until the end
of the match, then you’re going to log a good, lengthy time.
In 29 Royal Rumbles, five men have logged more than an hour in the match, with three of them winning: Ric Flair (60:02 in 1992), Chris Benoit (61:31 in 2004) and Rey Mysterio (62:12 in 2006) for the record. Bob Backlund (61:10 in 1993) and Triple H (60:09 in 2006) have lasted an hour, but ultimately were knocked out.
Roman Reigns missed the century mark by about 10 seconds last year, but his addition would have been suspect considering he was “knocked out” and spent nearly half the match in the back recuperating.
If you’re adding up the cumulative time spent in the Rumble, then Triple H has that record currently, logging three hours, 59 minutes in his eight Rumbles. However, Chris Jericho significantly closed the gap after last year’s 50-minute performance, trailing Hunter by less than four minutes. Kane is about 20 minutes behind Triple H.
