11 WWE Title Changes That MUST Happen In 2023
4. SmackDown Women’s Championship - Bayley
During the pandemic era, no one held up the company better than Bayley. She grasped how to fill the silence better than anyone, had one of the few proper stories in her slowburn feud with Sasha Banks, and cemented herself as probably the greatest SmackDown women’s champion thus far.
Injury and stupid booking (beaten up by the Bellas at WrestleMania 37, anyone?) squandered a few years of Bayley’s time. Now she’s back, and should be rewarded ASAP with the big blue belt.
This isn’t just a prize for time served, though. Bayley is one of the roster’s best all-rounders, and is at her best when chasing a title. The work with Bianca Belair last year hit some real heights, and if the Damage CTRL stuff hasn’t quite taken off, that’s all the more reason for a change in direction.
Bayley is yet to have her great WrestleMania moment; that needs to change this year. Charlotte Flair downing Ronda Rousey made for a fine pop - Bayley should be next in line.
