Those who know their (currently forbidden) WWE know that Hulk Hogan wasn't some unknown quantity when he showed up defeat the Iron Sheik and something something runnin' wild. He'd had an extremely successful run as a heel in the late 1970's, including a sold-out Shea Stadium bout where Hogan definitely didn't slam André the Giant, no sir. Despite his rising star, Hogan left the company to film a role he strongly believed would make his career, but that Vince McMahon Sr. didn't approve of.

Hulk Hogan's star-making performance -- sorry, No Holds Barred fans, all two of you -- was as Rocky III's Ultimate Male. He's like the final form of Superstar Billy Graham, a ridiculous giant in a cape-and-bowler-hat ensemble swathed in adoring hype girls. He looks like he's about 23 feet tall next to Stallone. It's honestly a much better character than "Orange vitamin taker", "self-styled celebrity nihilist" or "national embarrassment, so maybe Hogan should just quietly morph back into Thunderlips full time.
