12 Most Notorious Kane Urban Legends

7. Kane Had Surgery To Heal His Burns

You'll be amazed at how many WWE fans take storylines literally. It is increasingly less common, but even today, fans still buy into some narratives with immense gullibility. Going back to the pre-IWC mid 90's, kids the world over speculated if Kane really was a burns victim. When the mask was eventually removed in 2003, some fans actually theorised that Kane had undergone surgery to correct his scars. Why People Believe It: The majority of wrestling fans aren't the "smarks" - the internet wrestling community is actually the minority. The mass of fans are way more casual and sometimes picks up just snippets of a story. A surprisingly large amount of fans bought into the idea that Kane was burned. When he unmasked, these fans then simply figured that he'd had corrective surgery. Sorry to say it, but when WWE market their product to the lowest common denominator, they inevitably attract a section of the audience that isn't too bright. Should We Believe It: No, Kane never needed any corrective surgery. Pre-Kane photos of Glenn Jacobs prove that he never had any burns. What was WWE's explanation for why he was scar free when unmasking? Apparently he was so psychologically disturbed that he'd imagined the burns.
