12 New Year's Resolutions For WWE Superstars
10. Mick Foley Resolves To Stay Home
Mick, we love you but it’s time to stay home. With the recent news that the face half of the two Raw General Managers would be taking some time off to heal up from an injury, it left fans questioning how that would change the dynamic of the authority figures on Raw. But the reality of the situation is it doesn’t matter.
The Hardcore Legend, while viewed by many fans as a lovable ol’ muppet, has been abysmal in his role as GM. The attempts at storytelling with Sami Zayn have neutered a promising young star, his overly serious promos border on cringe-inducing and everything that made Commissioner Foley a blast in the the 2000s has been noticeably absent.
Mick just isn’t connecting with the modern audience. Maybe he doesn’t have it anymore. Or maybe it’s the fact that every time an angle doesn’t go over like he’d like it to he takes to Facebook and pens a 30,000 word diatribe defending the merits of the story. No one cares, Foley.
He’s made some amazing contributions to the business and deserves all the accolades he’ll ever receive, but he’s a terrible fit for this gig. And I’m already dreading the future Charlotte Flair w/Ric vs. Noelle Foley w/Mick angle that I have no doubt is less than two years away.
