On paper, the WWF's Brawl For All competition seemed decent enough. At the very least, it was something that fans had been discussing for a while... if you took pro wrestlers and put them in legitimate fights, instead of scripted bouts, who would come out victorious? Of course, being Vince McMahon, he couldn't help but to try and find a way to try and get some script in there somehow. "Dr. Death" Steve Williams was the WWF's chosen winner. Williams was one of the toughest men in the history of wrestling, and Vince was set to give him a big push upon him winning the Brawl For all. That was the first mistake Vince would make here, as Williams would go on to get knocked out by Bart Gunn in the quarterfinal round. By the time the tournament was over, multiple men were injured, including Savio Vega, whose arm injury ended his WWF career. You might as well count Bart Gunn's defeat at WrestleMania 15 at the hands of Butterbean as an injury, too, since Bart getting embarrassed in front of millions of people destroyed his soul and ego in one fell swoop. The company would never attempt anything like this again, and for good reason.
