12 Upcoming Wrestling Stories That Are Already Doomed

4. Rusev Vs Sheamus

Rusev's 2025 WWE return already felt like it was faltering before he went 50/50 with Sheamus in matches that got very little from the audiences despite the hard-hitting bombs lobbed between the former League Of Nations partners.

It was another case of the market leader not really acknowledging exactly who was buying the tickets in all those full buildings, but the fact that it happened twice suggests that it was part of a wider plan from the company and we can expect more of it until something gives between one of them. There's been blood, sweat but no tears yet - and the only ones likely to be shed are to be from superfans of both rather than the majority viewers tuning in patiently waiting for one of the bigger stars to arrive.

And yet, almost in protest of the lack of heat, it persists

The best case scenario for both men is for this to end up going the same way as The Bar and giving them a dependable run as a doubles act in a Raw tag scene that could desperately do with some fresh blood. If a best-of-[insert number] doesn't at least provide that, what's this all been about?
