12 Ups And 16 Downs For WWE In 2021
4. Brock’s Face Turn
Who would have thought that jovial Brock Lesnar would be a top story in WWE in 2021?
Having not been seen in a WWE ring since WrestleMania 36, Lesnar made his return at SummerSlam this year to immediately challenge Roman Reigns for the WWE Universal Championship. Brock would be unsuccessful at Crown Jewel, but along the way, he began showing more of a personality than he had at almost any point during his previous run with the company (save maybe for Money in the Bank Brock).
This version of Lesnar wears a topknot and overalls, talks about hunting and cracks jokes with Sami Zayn… before hitting an F-5 on him. (It is Brock Lesnar, after all.) He’s still deadly serious about putting Reigns down, but without a mouthpiece in Paul Heyman, Brock has had to handle his own promos, and he’s been killing it this fall and winter.
That’s not to say that we don’t want a murderous rampage at some point, but this might be the most entertaining Lesnar we’ve seen in quite some time.
