12 WWE Clash Of Champions 2019 Impulse Reactions
1. THE FIEND
WWE have a notoriously patchy record with knowing when to actually just push their most over gimmicks. There have been as many cases of waiting too long as there have been dishing out pushes in rushes depending on the needs of the organisation at the time, but in Bray Wyatt's sh*t-scary alter ego, they are doing right by doing whatever the f*ck they like with it.
The closing moments of Clash Of Champions were exhilarating for the level of utter terror they created. Terror for the future of Seth Rollins' Universal Championship, terror for the prospect of what on earth The Fiend would do to him in their eventual pay-per-view encounter and terror for what he was doing to him there and then.
This sucks for Seth, of course - he has to lose to The Fiend with his prized possession on the line, and there may be no way back to the summit. Ultimately, he's the secondary character in his own title defence - this mortifying mutilation of 'The Beastslayer' was the latest checkpoint in Wyatt's 2019 reinvention, and stands to complete the biggest comeback story of the year.
