12 WWE Rematches That Are Better Than The Original Classic
11. Bret Hart Vs The British Bulldog (In Your House 5: Seasons Beatings)
For British fans, Davey Boy Smith's Intercontinental Title victory over Bret Hart at SummerSlam 92 in Wembley Arena is one of the greatest moments in WWE history: one of their own had won a major singles belt in front of a record 80,355 fans. It is also considered one of the best matches of all time to boot. It took three years for their big PPV rematch but it was worth the wait. A very different match from their previous one, the match at IYH 5 had the added bonus of blood. Lots of blood, in fact. When Bret was tossed into the stairs about midway through the match he was busted wide open. Not a big deal for a main event WWF Title match, you might think, but the WWF had a ban on blading at the time and Bret really went for it with his bladejob. The blood loss did add an extra dimension and element of drama, however, as Bret fought from behind to win and settle the score with Bulldog (turning Smith's white tights pink in the process).
