12 WWE Rematches That Are Better Than The Original Classic
12. Kurt Angle Vs Shawn Michaels (Vengeance 2005)
The first Kurt Angle vs Shawn Michaels match at WrestleMania 21 has went down as one of the best matches in wrestling history. The two world-class performers gelled perfectly on the grandest stage in what was their first match together. It was a total show-stealer. Michaels challenged Angle to a rematch the night he was drafted from Smackdown to Raw and Angle accepted. Expectations were high for the rematch at Vengeance on June 26th of that year. Could 'The Olympic Hero' and 'The Heartbreak Kid' produce another match for the ages? In short: yes, they could. Wrestling a different match to their WrestleMania stunner, Kurt concentrated on Michaels' injured back and neck. A sick german suplex onto the Spanish announce desk and a powerbomb into the corner considerably weakened the 'Showstopper'. Angle's stiff clothesline later in the bout almost took HBK's head off. Shawn, as he invariably does, came back and took it to Angle. After all manner of teases and big moves Michaels settled the score, blasting Kurt with Sweet Chin Music as he jumped off the top rope. The match is so good that many people claim it to be a shade superior to their 'Mania classic. Any time Angle and Michaels squared off you knew you were getting your money's worth.
