12 WWE TLC 2018 Impulse Reactions

5. Take A Seat, Kids

Amidst a slew of younger men doing wilder things with their slightly-less-ravaged frames, Randy Orton and Rey Mysterio kept it simple, stupid, despite the daftest stipulation this side of a hanging guitar.

The 'Chairs' stipulation was more tacked on that the pubes atop Mysterio's mask, but it's a fairly safe assertion that this was the best ever variant of the match. Orton was a cynical, threatening presence, perpetually looming over a man that theoretically shouldn't have anything to fear this point his career but conveyed it magnificently because he's one of the best to ever lace boots.

The finish was acutely attuned to the rest of the contest. In an effort to escape Orton's hideos intent with technical prowess, 'The Biggest Little Man' stunned 'The Apex Predator' into temporary paralysis and flew at him with a match-winning victory roll.

This was excellently executed Sports Entertainment by those performing the roles they were born to play. Pro wrestling is art form, but this was a cathartic reminder of how hard it is to screw up when everybody involved are good at their jobs.
