9. Vince Loves Stereotypes
Xavier says that he's not intimidated by Vince - who inexplicably called him "Zeke" for a while - adding that you just need to speak to him like a grown man. When Vince talked to them about their characters they told him they absolutely did not want to sing and dance because they felt that for African-American athletes you're either the dancing black guy, the big, strong black guy or the foreign black guy. Kofi says when he suggested the preacher gimmick, he can't describe the tension in the room. He says that no one sold it, but they just walked out of the room thinking that Vince was crazy. Jericho says that McMahon managed to find another black stereotype and then tells a story about Ron Simmons' reaction to being told he would become Farooq, who laughed and then when he realized Vince was serious he told him he loved it. Kingston said they walked out of the meeting dejected because it was the complete opposite of what they wanted to do, but when you're given a task you do the best with it and thinks they did pretty well.
