CM Punk speaks openly about his desperation for a WrestleMania main event. He goes as far to tell Cabana that he considers his career a failure because he didn't get to close a Mania show. He reveals that he pitched a range of different scenarios for WrestleMania 29, where he strongly felt like he should be going in as champion. His belief was that he should beat Rock at Royal Rumble and then have Punk vs Cena vs Rock at Mania. Punk even offered to be eliminated in the first five minutes - he just desperately wanted to get on last. The other thing he pitched was his match with Undertaker going on last. Again, Vince wasn't keen. On this point, you can understand WWE's decision making. Rock vs Cena the year before had been the highest grossing pay per view ever - it would be lunacy not to go with the straight rematch as the Mania 29 closer. On Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer commented that it was "not necessarily the best attitude" when Punk was going on like this in that portion of Cabana's interview.
