Kevin Owens fans should point to KO's introductory feud with John Cena as a reason for his continued success on WWE TV. A star in NXT, Owens needed something huge to launch his main roster career, and the rivalry with Cena was just the ticket. This was 'WWE Superstar vs. Unlikely WWE Superstar' and written to sheer perfection.

Seeing Owens beat Cena at Elimination Chamber felt extraordinary too. Making things even more special, this was Cena's first clean loss since staring at the lights for Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam 2014. That's right: KO was hand-picked to deliver Cena's first legit defeat since the guy who had also taken The Undertaker's winning streak.

When put like that, it becomes clear just how meaningful this was in kickstarting Owens main roster journey. Cena would get his return wins further on down the road (that pesky 50/50 booking again), but not before KO had bragged about beating him cleanly on pay-per-view.
