For years, it seemed like every time Sting's contract with Total Nonstop Action Wrestling came up for renewal, there was a sense of excitement in the air that maybe, just maybe, he would finally arrive in WWE. It never materialized, that is, until 2014 when he signed a deal with the company to appear in its WWE 2K15 video game. Then, it was revealed, he signed a performer's contract for six dates. One of them being Survivor Series, where he made his epic debut after years of anticipation and speculation. With darker, edgier theme music, the Stinger stalked toward the squared circle, came face-to-face with Triple H and proceeded to lay him out with the Scorpion Death Drop before placing a prone Dolph Ziggler on top of Seth Rollins. From there, the official counted Rollins shoulders down and, as a result of the loss, The Authority was removed from power. From 1996 until '97, Sting watched from afar as corruption ruled WCW in the form of the New World Order. History repeated itself nearly two decades later as The Authority regularly abused its power to make the lives of WWE Superstars miserable. He channeled his inner vigilante and put a stop to it, just as he had earlier in his career. It was the perfect way to debut the character and one that stays true to its history. In the process, he made an enemy of The Game, something that may have repercussions come 2015's WrestleMania XXXI.
