Edge and Christian were the undisputed kings of tag team wrestling, having outlasted their biggest rivals - the Hardyz and the Dudley Boyz - in a triangle ladder match at WrestleMania 2000. Road Dogg and X-Pac were the official tag team arm of the McMahon-Helmsley Regime, the top heel stable in the company. The crowd dynamics were all over the place on this one. The fans popped huge for Road Dogg's introductory spiel, but soon began chanting "X-Pac sucks". Edge and Christian, despite only recently turning heel, were functional babyfaces thanks to their more athletic offense. Christian played Ricky Morton for most of the match, and they even broke out the old "referee missed the hot tag" chestnut. Edge eventually did get a hot tag and came in like a house of fire, only to be foiled by outside interference from D-X's manager. Christian countered THAT by braining X-Pac with the ring bell, and proved who the real top heels of the tag team ranks were.
