6. “I’m Not A Good Guy, I’m Not A Bad Guy, I’m THE Guy” - Roman Reigns
At this point, it's unlikely Roman Reigns will ever be accepted by fans as WWE's top guy. No matter how many pushes management gives him, no matter how forcefully they try to position him as a top babyface, Reigns is likely doomed to remain stuck in fan purgatory until he does something drastically different with his character.
Reigns attempted to embrace his character's unfavorable tweener status with a catchphrase: "I'm not a good guy, I'm not a bad guy, I'm the guy." It's a line that taps on the fourth wall without actually breaking it down. And that's what kills it.
In order to make a catchphrase like that work, it has to come from a sincere place. And sincerity just doesn't seem like Roman Reigns' strong suit. So instead he tiptoes around the chorus of boos he receives on the daily with a line that only intensifies his "meh" persona.
