15 Worst Catchphrases In Wrestling History
7. "Listen Up/Choke On That, Slapnuts" - Jeff Jarrett
Hey look, Jeff Jarrett's back on the list. Go figure.
This little slogan of his would've gone over fine if he just dropped the "slapnuts" part altogether. Seriously, why not end your promo with "choke on that"? That's a reasonable thing to say to your opponents, especially since Jarrett's verbal confrontations usually ended with a big diss.
But as with so many of the catchphrases on this list, Jarrett had to add a little "personality" to it with something oddly specific yet entirely nonsensical.
"Slapnuts" sounds like something a junior high bully comes up with in the heat of the moment, and everyone just kind of goes along with it because they don't want to be the next one in the bully's crosshairs. Something about that portmanteau, coupled with his grating drawl, made him come off as the worst kind of redneck. (So...not the Stone Cold kind.)
