Flatlining one of the most popular teams in the biz and then failing to follow up on it with something satisfactory? You can't teach that. Enzo Amore and Big Cass were on top of the world together in 2016-2017. Then, Cass faked that he’d been attacked to redirect suspicion about Enzo’s mystery attacker elsewhere. It turned out he’d been the aggressor all along.

He did it for The Rock! No, wait, that's not right. That line belongs in WWE face and heel turns that immediately backfired, not here. In truth, the initial shock reveal on that 19 June 2017 Raw was effective. Cass said that he was sick of Enzo holding him back and constantly getting them into trouble with his big mouth, which was believable, but the follow up was wishy washy and went nowhere after that.

Amore attached himself to the Cruiserweight division, and Cass failed to convince as a heel before personal problems wrecked his once-promising WWE career. Thankfully, and to his credit, he’s been able to bounce back from that somewhat to earn a spot on the AEW roster, but he and Enzo went from being one of the most over acts in wrestling to largely forgotten as individuals.

Some fans thought Enzo and Cass would go on to rule the tag ranks for years to come, but they didn't even get a run as champs never mind anything else. Amore's personal life and legal fallout has tarnished fond memories of their highs for a few, but WWE scripting a split without either side really being ready to strike out on his own was ill-advised.

Kinda SAWFT, actually.
