8. Eric Bischoff 'Didn't Understand The Mask'

When asked about being unmasked by Kevin Nash in WCW, after a Hair vs Mask match at Superbrawl IX, Rey expressed regret about the decision. To Luchadors, the mask is a symbol of respect, an homage to the time when the industry was protected. The mask symbolises the traditions of Mexican wrestling: honour, heritage and the principle that the secrets of the craft are not to be open to the public, but rather hidden and mysterious (Rey Mysterious). In Rey's view, Bischoff didn't understand the mask and simply thought it would 'be cool' if he lost it. Rey accused the WCW boss of having limited vision, unable to see how big the Rey Mysterio image would become.
