9. How Did He Come Up With The 619?

When Rey Mysterio was asked by a small child how he came up with the 619, the masked luchador admitted that he has taken inspiration for the move from a wrestler back in Mexico called Super Astro. Astro, real name Juan Zezatti Ramírez, who is 54 years old, and still wrestling (as recently as October 1st for LEGEND Promociones in Mexico) was wrestling as Rey began his television career. Rey recounted that Astro used to do a version of the 619 as a psych-out to his enemies. His opponents would be on the outside of the ring on the floor and Super Astro would run at the ropes, freaking them out, before doing a 619 at the last moment. Rey remarked the fans would go crazy for it, and eventually he took it and worked it into his arsenal as an offensive move. Like his mask, the move is another nod to Mysterio's heritage and inspirations.
