17 WWE Superstars Who Mysteriously Lost A Name

3. Cactus Jack (Manson)

Yes, Mick Foley's most bloodthirsty persona originally came equipped with a suitably demonic surname. The "Cactus Jack" part came from a character Foley's dad, legendary gym teacher Jack Foley, created for some weird 1970's wrestling board game, and "Manson" obviously came from infamous murder family patriarch Charlie Manson. As Foley navigated the indy scene, the name helped to enhance his already intimidating reputation.

Eventually, notorious nice guy Foley felt bad about profiting off Manson's reputation of real life violence to sell his own brand of funhouse brutality. That, and a very, uh, dedicated fan by the name of Mary Ann Manson came to believe that she was Mrs. Cactus, which lead Mick to abandon the name even more rapidly that he might have otherwise.
