17 WWE Superstars Who Mysteriously Lost A Name

9. Big E (Langston)

Big E's real name is Ettore Ewen, so that part makes perfect sense. The "Langston" likely came from famed Harlem Renaissance poet, Langston Hughes. NXT talents supposedly have some measure of control over their names, so perhaps Big E either suggested or approved it based upon a personal affinity for Mr. Hughes' work. Uh, Langston Hughes. Not the mid-90's bodyguard character, even if Big E followed his career path for a hot minute.

E kept his last name throughout his entire developmental stint and even into his time on the main roster before finally dropping it in 2014. Perhaps it was decided that "BIG E" was more marketable, and the last name was immaterial. Or, you know, maybe Vince is just more of a Zora Neale Hurston kind of guy.
