The two men briefly recap Shane's early matches, mentioning his bouts with Pat Patterson and Gerald Brisco as well as winning the European title from X-Pac at WrestleMania and Mick says it was around this time that Shane started earning the respect of the guys backstage. He asks McMahon how important that was to him.

Shane responds that it was extremely important and was something that had been instilled in him since he had first began visiting the locker room, going all the way back to when he was a young kid bringing the guys coffee.

He mentions certain rules such as taking ribs and not stooging anyone off, keeping your mouth shut, never breaking kayfabe, etc. He notes that the rules may have been different then than they are today but that having the respect of your peers is just as important now as it was then.
