The other reason to believe Punk's debut could be a little later, is because UFC would be very wise to hold out for a Chicago show. The Chicago native will shift a ton of tickets in his hometown. He's a local celebrity and crowds have gone wild for him in the WWE. Just imagine the same wild scenes and chants of "CM PUNK" at a UFC show. It would be one of the MMA atmospheres of the year. Punk himself has expressed a desire for the first fight to be in Chicago. He knows it makes sense, and obviously enjoys the hometown support. On the other hand, put him in front of a Vegas crowd, and he could be booed out of the building. MMA fans hate WWE, and Punk is going to need to win some people over.
