19 Wrestlers From Raw's Debut Year Who Are No Longer With Us
2. Mr Perfect
Mr Perfect, otherwise known as Curt Hennig, was one of the most important in-ring performers during the first year of Raw and he had a number of matches throughout the course of 1993. Most famous amongst them was his retirement match with Ric Flair that sent The Nature Boy packing from the WWE and was perhaps the first indicator that Raw would become a very important programme for the company. Hennigs career both before and after that first year of Raw include some of the greatest matches ever, with special mention being given to his feud with Bret Hart. Hennig also briefly reappeared in WWE looking as good as ever in 2002 before being let go in the fallout of the Plane Ride From Hell incident. Unfortunately that would be the last time fans got to see him on WWE television. Less than a year later Mr Perfect was found dead in a hotel room as a result of a cocaine overdose at the age of 44. He was honoured by the WWE Hall of Fame in 2007.
