2 Ups & 4 Downs From AEW Rampage (Mar 25)

1. The Tease Of More Hobbs/Fenix

Rey Fenix
AEW

The only real upside to come out of Powerhouse Hobbs vs. Penta was Rey Fenix running in to save his brother after the match. No, it didn't make much sense when Fenix faked a hammer swing at the grinning Hobbs, but let's look on the bright side: Rey vs. Powerhouse II could be on the cards.

That'd be awesome.

It'd be great to see Fenix get a sustained singles run heading into Double Or Nothing. If built properly, Hobbs vs. Fenix II (their original on last week's Rampage is the kind of match no wrestling fan should sleep on) could be pay-per-view fire and a real credit to the DoN undercard.

Rey is the ideal wrestler to bump around for Hobbs, and they seem to complement one another nicely. AEW should encourage that chemistry, and see if they can turn Fenix into a breakout singles star in 2023. Why not? He can always go back to tagging with Penta here or there.
