20 Absolute Best Wrestlers In The World Right Now

5. Kenny Omega

Best in the world 2021
IMPACT Wrestling

Kenny Omega would place higher if not for the disappointments of his World Champion character thus far, with The Best Bout Machine regularly veering dangerously close to cartoonish wackiness alongside Don Callis. Watching him get cheap heat on kindergarten kids and hang out on the golf course has been an odd pill to swallow following Jon Moxley's excellent reign. Above all else, Omega needs the upcoming deathmatch to write this otherwise excellent character's course.

Elsewhere, Kenny is firing at the moment. Challenging Moxley, of all people, to an exploding barbed wire match is perfect hubris for his current persona. He looks, acts, and sounds like a complete d*ckhead at the moment and while occasionally overambitious in his performances, his willingness to think outside the box and try new things is unmatched at this level.

Between the ropes, Omega has been stellar in 2021. His early-year clash with Rey Fenix is a leading MOTYC contender for many AEW fans and just like the Lucha Brother, Kenny has shone in multi-mans and other tags, particularly in the 10 February falls count anywhere brawl. He's the leader of a genuine revolution, too, heading up the most compelling wrestling invasion in years with The Good Brothers by his side, and a potential shot at Rich Swann's Impact World Title on the horizon.
