20 Best Matches Of Brock Lesnar's Career
5. Vs. CM Punk - SummerSlam 2013
After losing his WWE Championship to The Rock, and his WrestleMania XXIV match against The Undertaker, CM Punk took time off to recover from his two-year run on top of WWE. When he did return, he was soon after betrayed by his advocate and friend Paul Heyman, and attacked by Brock Lesnar. At SummerSlam, a No Disqualification match was set between the two Paul Heyman guys, with lofty expectations coming in.
At The Biggest Party of the Summer, The Beast Incarnate, who was also coming off a WrestleMania loss to Triple H, once again proved that given the right opponent, he can be one of the best wrestlers in the world. Despite the large size difference, CM Punk looked as big a star as Lesnar as they traded submission holds; a shocking sight against the former UFC Heavyweight Champion in Lesnar. The match was also filled with some amazing spots, chief of which was Punk hitting his signature elbow drop on The Beast, aided by a steel chair.
In the end, the story reached it's most logical conclusion, as The Best in the World turned his attention away from Brock and onto his former ally Heyman. That would be Punk's ultimate downfall, as while he had his former advocate in the Anaconda Vice, Lesnar would attack with a steel chair, planting Punk with and F-5 for the win.
